Once you get ion power cells that have 5 times the standard capacity, even using the sonar and silent running aren't really a problem any more if you don't get carried away. (the one for the prawn suit is much less useful since you can charge that when you get back to the cyclops)ĭon't forget to install a chair so you can sit and look out the window while waiting to recharge from a thermal vent without using food or water. ![]() ![]() Once you start taking trips to the deeper biomes and get some kyanite, you can make a thermal charger for the cyclops that helps a lot. My main base uses nuclear power and has 3 power cell chargers and a battery charger so it doesn't take long to top up everything. Normally when I'd return to my base after a trip, I'd swap the dead cells for charged ones and take the dead ones into the base to use a charger there. I normally run at slow speed and although I carry a full set of charged power cells in a locker, I've never had to change them while away from base. I first time I tried the cyclops I had silent running and couldn't believe how fast the power was draining, but once I figured out what was doing it and turned it off, it was fine for power usage. ![]() have a bigger and configurable amount of storage spaceB. Improves the cyclops downstairs internal lockers to A. So download the newest version, and this should be fixed. I recently upgraded to the ion power cells that are available later in the game, but even before that I didn't really have much of a problem with it's power power usage.
